Description
Godawan 173: Collector’s Edition was launched as a limited-edition whisky to mark a historic conservation milestone - the rise of Godawan’s population from 96 to 173. To save the remaining birds, Rajasthan’s Jaipur Blue Pottery (JBP) art had to thrive again. The connection? Their shared land. As the art lost its patrons, JBP artisans were moving out of Godawan’s habitat and leaving it open for industrialisation. This centuries-old art needed pride and patronage. We transformed the packaging of 173 bottles of our rare whisky into a showcase for JBP. Launched in 173 unique designs honouring each bird, every bottle was individually handcrafted from a fragile quartz-based material under the mentorship of art conservationist Dr. Leela Bordia. Traditional nature-inspired motifs and the bird’s silhouette came alive in a signature palette of cobalt blue, turquoise and white. The packaging turned craft and conservation into a collectible that became a literal lifeline for an entire ecosystem.
