We admire homes once they are complete. What we rarely see is everything that goes into creating them. Behind every wall lies a world of ideas, engineering, craftsmanship and countless decisions that shape a home. Roots is a permanent exhibition within the Kalpataru One Sales Centre that uncovers this hidden world. It explores the making of a home through master planning, architecture, material innovation, construction systems, landscape design and sustainability. These subjects are often highly technical and difficult to engage with. Our approach was to transform technical knowledge into artistic expression. Engineering drawings became illustrations. Building systems became sculptures. Landscape design became an origami garden. Physical models, layered displays and tactile exhibits turned complex information into moments of curiosity and discovery. Rather than explaining how a home is built, Roots reveals the remarkable thought, care and craft behind its making.
