The Listening Room is a temporary immersive installation that places listening at the centre of the spatial experience. The environment brings together controlled lighting, sound, material, objects and scent to create a setting designed to be experienced rather than simply viewed. A veiled entrance creates a gradual transition into the dimly lit interior, allowing the acoustic experience to unfold progressively. Glass vitrines display archival memorabilia, soda-fountain referenc and a restored gramophone, connecting the installation to Bombay’s cinematic and acoustic culture. Music drawn from a personal collection forms the core of the experience and is delivered through high-performance speakers integrated into the space. A sculptural wall functions as both a visual element and an acoustic treatment, while a custom console, timber and metal surfaces, seating, and a subtle scent profile of wood, tobacco and betelnut complete the environment.
