Description
Black Poetry is a craft coffee brand built around single-origin beans, careful sourcing and cold-brewing. For launching its sparkling coffee, we created Beautiful Vandalism, a strategic idea inspired by détournement, where familiar cultural material is altered to create new meaning. For the launch posters, we carried that idea into three original artworks. We selected three canonical still lifes whose mood and composition could reflect the personality of each flavour. A classical painter recreated each work in oil on canvas, integrating Black Poetry cans directly into the scene so they felt native to the composition. The finished paintings were then handed to a graffiti artist, who vandalised them with spray paint, graphic marks and copy drawn from the direct, provocative language of graffiti. Classical craft, product and street expression came together in a single image. The posters gave Coffee, Ruined Right an unmissable launch presence with a format built for attention.
