The identity was built and monikered around 'The Grin' - an epitome of notoriety amidst a world of placid, unassuming smiles. A smile signals all that is good and familiar - warmth, happiness, friendliness. A grin, however, has something more cunning about it. It knows something you don’t. It carries a hint of mischief, a touch of impudence and just enough unease to make you squirm and look twice. We drew from the cultural idea of the grin as the mark of a misfit and the outlier, subverting a universally familiar smile into an expression of mischief and notoriety. The result was a simple, unmistakable expression that didn’t just smile at the world. It grinned back.
