Description
In India, over 60 percent of child births still happen at home. In primitive, subpar conditions, asphyxiation during the first minute after child-birth is one of the leading causes of neo-natal mortality. So, while moms around the world cherish their ‘firsts’ with their babies - innumerable moms in India never get to experience life beyond the first minute with their child. Johnson’s Baby had been talking about ‘Protection from Day 1’ for a while. With an objective to help reduce neonatal infant mortality, it was now time to go beyond a skin-deep commitment. From training healthcare professionals (2 lakh+ nurses, mid-wives and paediatricians) to providing high-quality equipment, products at point of intervention & partnering with social impact organizations to reach grassroots, Johnsons Baby furthered their commitment to protect babies from not just day 1, but minute 1. Project Golden Minute aims to shine a spotlight on this initiative while mobilising the mom community.
