Description
Total declared budget: INR 2 lakh. The film that wasn't supposed to exist. This film was made for nothing — literally. Shot in the margins of a separate reels shoot day, it began as a conversation between a producer and a young director he believed in. The idea: Ritu Phogat was there, the camera was there, and the opportunity wouldn't come again. Write something. Shoot it now. The script was written on the spot. Ritu's voice was recorded there. No location budget. No separate shoot day. No post-production luxury. Director Victor Pillai worked with what was in front of him — an athlete, a space, and a idea built around one phrase: "Main Samundar Su." The zero-budget constraint didn't limit the film. It liberated it. With nothing to protect, every decision was purely creative. The result was shared organically by Ritu Phogat from her personal platform — without brand attribution, without promotion — reaching over 11k views on the strength of the film alone. No budget. Just filmmaking.
