Description
Brief: Cleartrip is one of India's largest travel booking sites. For their annual Nation On Vacation Sale, the brand needed a film that showcased the largeness of the sale. Cultural Context: 'Chidiya Udd' (translation: Sparrow, Fly!) is a game played by kids in India. The intention of the game is for one person to rattle off names of objects/animals that fly and also those that don't fly. Others must raise their fingers when the object in question does actually fly. However, if the person calls out the name of something that doesn't fly (say, a toaster) and the others raise their fingers, then they are eliminated from the game. Creative Idea: In the film, we use the device of Chidiya Udd to imbue magic realism in the film. Kids, who seem to just be whiling away time playing this ordinary game, end up making people escape from their humdrum days and into holiday mode.
