Renu vs The City tells the story of a young girl - who with her family has travelled to Mumbai for cancer treatment. For many families like Renu’s - the biggest challenge in big cities is simply having a place to stay. The fight doesn’t stop at the hospital. The film follows Renu as she navigates a city that feels vast, noisy, and overwhelming. Through her perspective, the city becomes the challenge she must face alongside her illness. Yet she takes it on with her greatest strength : her innocence and hope. The film was brought to life through the collective support of a team that came together for the cause. The project was driven by a shared belief in the story and this same spirit shaped the film. We see the pavements outside hospitals through her eyes. At its heart, Renu vs The City tries to highlight a simple truth: A child fighting cancer should not also have to fight the city around her.
