Music Director's Note - The brief was simple yet challenging. Make it grand but meditative, not screaming for attention. Adapting a masterpiece like Reunion by a 13-time Grammy nominee Anoushka Shankar, requires a delicate balance between preserving the soul of the original composition and re-engineering its structure to serve a commercial narrative. The arrangement was structured to build a sense of spiritual homecoming. The track was meticulously reedited to mirror the breath of the film. We identified key crescendos in the sitar performance to anchor the film’s most cinematic reveals, such as the architectural grandness and the serenity of the ghats. To ground the classical strings into a tourism context, we integrated organic ambient sounds. The adaptation was not cosmetic. It was conversational. For me, this film became less about showcasing a destination and more about documenting a conversation. Between an artist and a landscape. The film doesn’t rush. We let moments breathe.
