Description
Parlour visits hit a wall. Families spent more time scrolling than talking over ice cream. Our shops became transactional "buy and bye" zones where people spent less than five minutes before leaving. We wanted to bring back the social joy of a dessert run. So we decided to bring the high speed chaos of a gaming arcade into our parlours by making a game that you can only play using our product. We reimagined a NIC ice cream as a gaming peripheral instead of a passive snack. The result was the world’s first edible video game controller. By inventing conductive jelly sensors, we turned each lick into real-time data and our cones became controllers. With this oogly-googly technology, the faster you lick your ice cream, the faster you race, punch, and fly in-game. The play was so messy and joyful that it became a spectator sport and turned a quiet scoop into a viral social event.
