PROBLEM - Everyone loves a long weekend getaway, but most realise it too late. The result? Last-minute bookings and surge prices, or worse - staying at home and regretting it. INSIGHT - Instead of showing up only when holiday opportunities arise, what if Cleartrip could live where people already plan their lives, and influence travel decisions before the panic sets in. IDEA - Cleartrip turned one of the world’s most used productivity tools - Google Calendar into a travel planner. And a zero-cost media channel! It automatically blocked long weekends across the entire year as events on the user’s calendar, suggested smart leave hacks, subtly integrated booking links as part of the event descriptions, and most importantly, sent reminders 2-3 weeks in advance for better trip planning. Instead of tapping into one of the standard platforms, Cleartrip not only unlocked a new platform for advertising but also reached out to the audience when they least expected it - but most needed it!
