For Mumbai, neither cricket nor Mumbai Indians has ever been just sport. It’s a belief the city carries. But like all things larger than life, this love has often lived at a distance. For 18 years, the team has been home to legends—admired, even pedestalised. And somewhere along the way, that pedestal widened the gap between the gullies and the pitch. Yet, the love never faded. Fans kept showing up, filling stadiums with unwavering belief. While the IPL is seasonal, their support isn’t. The team plays once a year, but they show up every day. So, for the 19th season, we changed the game. The team went to the fans. Not as stars, but as family, the ones they could question, tease, even scold. Because when it’s family, haqq toh banta hai. The spotlight shifted from players to the people who power it all. Fans Nahi, Fam. A love letter to Mumbai, making fans feel what they’ve always been: family.
