KitKat’s “Have a Break” has been one of advertising’s most enduring platforms for over six decades. The Slowest Vending Machine in the World is the most literal and radical expression of that platform. Rather than communicating the value of a break, it engineers one — physically, mechanically and artistically. Once a coin is inserted, the viewer cannot rush what happens next. The machine does not ask people to slow down. It simply makes slowing down so beautiful, that break becomes natural as the viewer is lost in the experience for 3 whole minutes. In other words, the machine literally dispenses a break!
