Description
In a world where heritage crafts are increasingly reduced to fashion trends, FabIndia set out to restore the soul of Chikankari. Now in Bloom: Song of Spring, the Second Verse reframed the craft not as apparel, but as living cultural memory carried forward by generations of Karigars in Lucknow. Inspired by the oral storytelling tradition of Dastangoi, the film travelled beyond storefronts into artisan homes and workshops, documenting the three pillars of authentic Chikankari — Nakkashee (block carving), Chhapayee (printing), and Kadhaee (embroidery). Every stitch became a word. Every garment became a Dastan. By shifting focus from product to process, the campaign restored visibility and dignity to the artisans behind the craft. Through immersive digital storytelling, FabIndia transformed a seasonal collection launch into a cultural act of preservation — reminding audiences that craft is not decoration, but identity, livelihood, and legacy.
