Financial advertising often sounds like a lecture, and audiences mentally leave before the story even begins. For Flipkart Credit For All, we needed to sell easy access to credit in an entertaining and memorable way. Our insight was, when people can’t buy something immediately, they don’t stop wanting it, they start imagining it. They mentally make space for that purchase long before they actually own it. So instead of explaining that Flipkart offers credit for all without any paperwork, we took an entertaining yet insightful route. In the film, a father behaves as if he already owns upgraded appliances that exist only in his imagination from opening an invisible fridge to blending in an imaginary mixer. The absurdity made the message funny, relatable, memorable, and unmistakably Flipkart.
