Description
How do you make a 40 year legacy feel new? For the 40th anniversary of Asian Paints Sharad Samman, the Oscars of Pujo, we created a film that journeys through four decades of Kolkata’s artistic evolution. To connect with a younger audience while celebrating a legacy that began in 1985, the film follows the iconic mascot Gattu as he travels from the simple bamboo pandals of the 80s to today’s immersive digital installations. The craft becomes the narrative. A seamless blend of stop motion, animation and VFX brings each era to life, while a uniquely stitched soundtrack mirrors the cultural and musical shifts of each decade. More than an ad, the film acts as a living cultural archive. It launched the wider anniversary campaign by transforming history into a vibrant, contemporary story that bridges generations and keeps the spirit of Pujo evolving.
