Description
How do you tell a 40-year-old Kolkata story to a new generation? For the 40th anniversary of Asian Paints Sharad Samman—our award celebrating Durga Pujo’s creative spirit since 1985—we created a film that travels through time. "Choltey Choltey Chollish" is a journey made for Bengal. It follows our mascot Gattu through four decades of Pujo's artistic evolution, from the simple bamboo pandals of the 80s to today's digital installations. The craft is the story. We used a rich mix of stop-motion, animation, and VFX. But the innovation is its sound design: a soundtrack meticulously 'stitched' together from the music of each era, driving the visual narrative and making viewers feel the cultural shifts. This film isn't just an ad; it's a dynamic cultural archive. It successfully launched our anniversary campaign, proving that a regional story, told with expert craft and deep cultural understanding, can make history feel thrillingly new and bridge generational divides.
