Description
Godawan 173: Collector’s Edition revived Jaipur Blue Pottery (JBP) art to protect the critically endangered Godawan bird. The connection? Their shared land. As this art lost its patrons, JBP artisans from Rajasthan were moving out of Godawan’s habitat and leaving it open for industrialisation. To save the remaining birds, the region’s art community had to thrive again. We turned this endangered art into 173 bespoke bottles of our limited-edition whisky collection - an ode to the rise of Godawan’s population from 96 to 173. Each bottle was meticulously handcrafted in collaboration with the remaining JBP artisans under the mentorship of renowned art conservationist Dr. Leela Bordia. The allure of purposeful luxury took a centuries-old art form to global luxury circles - from London Fashion Week to Vogue. And with them came pride and patronage. The rare packaging gave a literal lifeline to an ecosystem - ensuring that as the local art community survives, the bird survives.
